‘Jersey Shore’ Producers — Hunting in Miami
TMZ.Com tells us that there’s a fist pump warning in Florida — TMZ has learned the people behind “Jersey Shore” have been checking out the beaches of Miami for the perfect spots for Season 2.
TMZ obtained a letter sent from the producers of “Jersey Shore” to the owner of Miami’s Mynt Lounge — asking for clearance to shoot footage inside the club in March and April.
The letter says 495 Productions is “currently researching Miami Beach as a possible location” for Season 2 and “won’t be able to shoot the show on Miami Beach unless we’re able to shoot in the hottest clubs.”
But sources close to the show tell TMZ “Jersey Shore” has not committed to one city yet — and even though they’ve sent out feelers to a bunch of different places, they’re still deciding between 9 other cities both inside and outside of the US.

Wayne Newton’s Plane — $700,000 Down the Drain Read more
TMZ.Com tells us that Wayne Newton claims he was ripped off by the people he hired to fix his private jet — claiming he blew more than $700,000 in repairs and the damn thing still doesn’t work.
Newton is reportedly under fire for allegedly abandoning the jet in a hangar at the Oakland County International Airport in Michigan nearly three years ago — the hangar claims Wayne owes more than $60,000 in storage fees.
But TMZ spoke with Newton’s rep who told us Wayne is the real victim here — because he’s spent “more than $700,000 to get the plane fixed and it’s still not fixed.”
The rep tells us Wayne is exploring his legal options — but it’s unclear who Newton is looking to sue.
Tyler Perry Sued Over a Song About The Devil
TMZ.Com tells us that Tyler Perry is facing one hell of a lawsuit — dude’s accused of using a Gospel song on his show “Meet the Browns” without forking over any green to the guy behind the music.
It’s all over a 2009 episode of the show, in which several characters sang the words, “The Devil thought he had me … but I got away.”
According to a new lawsuit filed Wednesday in federal court in Los Angeles, a songwriter named Johnny Tyrone Stringfield claims those lyrics came from his song, “I Got Away” — a song which he copyrighted back in 2008.
Now, Stringfield claims Perry — and the companies behind the show — owe him more than $100,000 to make things right.
Calls to Perry’s people have not been returned.
90210 Star Ian Ziering Engaged
People.Com tells us that ahead of the Valentine’s Day rush, Beverly Hills, 90210‘s Ian Ziering has changed his Facebook status from being “in a relationship” to “engaged.”
“Her name is Erin Kristine Ludwig,” Ziering, 45, tells PEOPLE in an e-mail. “She’s a nurse, we’re planning a spring wedding and we’ve been together since Labor Day 09.”
This will be the second marriage for Ziering, who played Steve on the hit show in the ’90s and was a Dancing with the Stars celebrity dancer (with Cheryl Burke) its fourth season. A 1997 first marriage, to model-actress Nikki Schieler Ziering, ended in divorce in 2002.
‘Idol’ Judge Accused of Stealing Dance Show
Randy Jackson isn’t used to stealing the show — but according to a new lawsuit, that’s exactly what he did with “America’s Best Dance Crew.”
The Dawg and MTV are being sued by a guy named Dwight McGhee — who claims the two powerhouses ripped off his idea for a reality show about a dance crew … called “International Breakerz League.”
According to the lawsuit, filed last week in L.A. County Superior Court, McGhee claims he pitched his show idea — which he calls “uncannily similar” to ABDC — to MTV back in 2004.
Fast forward four years later — ABDC premiers on MTV … and McGhee is pissed, claiming he and MTV struck an “implied” contract when he pitched his concept.
Now, McGhee wants Randy and MTV to pay more than $2,000,000 for his trouble. Good luck with that.
No immediate comment from Jackson or MTV
Leif Garrett Arrested in Drug Bust
TMZ.Com tells us that Leif Garrett was arrested Monday morning in Los Angeles for possession of a controlled substance.
The former teen idol was busted at 11:20 AM at the Metrolink station in downtown Los Angeles by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.
Garrett was taken into custody and placed behind bars. He wasn’t released until this morning.
Garrett’s been busted on the Metro Red Line before — back in 2006, he was caught for allegedly riding without a ticket … but heroin and Quaaludes were found in his possession. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail for the incident.
Garrett is due back in court on February 24.
Rob Schneider — To Be or Not to Be … Married?
TMZ.Com tells us that Rob Schneider traveled miles away from Los Angeles to the courthouse in Norwalk … the place where people get marriage licenses — dressed to the nines with an attractive female companion … but his rep says he wasn’t there to get a marriage license. If it walks like a duck …
Either way — check out the potential Mrs. Schneider. Not bad, Deuce Bigalow … not bad at all.
Tito Jackson Accused of Ruining MJ Tribute
TMZ.Com tells us that Tito Jackson is accused of single handedly torpedoing a Michael Jackson tribute concert last year — and now the guy behind the show is looking to settle the score. A concert promoter named Roy Isaac has fired off a letter to Tito — demanding he return a $7,500 deposit Tito was allegedly paid for a concert in Michigan — a concert that never happened.
Isaac tells TMZ the whole thing fell apart, in part, because Tito refused to do any press for the show. Now, Isaac has told Tito that he wants his money back — in 30 days — or else he’ll sue. Tito’s rep tells TMZ that Tito never got the money and Isaac’s beef should be with Jackson’s former booking agent.
